The discovery of mysterious energy rays, that were subsequently labeled as "x-rays", was the start of a common test method known as Radiography.  Soon after x-rays made their debut in the scientific community, gamma rays generated by the decaying of radioactive materials helped expand the capabilities of Radiography to thicker and heavier materials.

X-rays and Gamma Rays are forms of ionizing radiation that have the ability to penetrate into and through metallic objects.  Because of this ability they have the potential to cause harm to the human body and must be used in a safe manner.  The radiation safety training provided by Select NDE Services LLC. trains the technician in the use of radiation detecting equipment and the various methods of protecting the general public and oneself from the effects of the radiation.

Field Radiography requires the moving of radioactive materials along public roadways.  Our DOT training can help technicians who are preparing and transporting these Class 7 materials.  Training covers the various types of packaging and labeling as well as general safety and security precautions technicians  should adhere to.

Radiography Training discusses the topics of ASNT CP-105, including safely using radiation, radiation detecting equipment, radiographic techniques,  exposure calculations, and more.  We provide the general radiography training that is a starting point for all radiographers.
