Magnetic Particle Testing is an electromagnetic testing technique that is used on ferromagnetic materials.  The material to be tested is magnetized and then ferromagnetic particles are applied.  The particles are attracted to areas where magnetic flux exits (leaks) from the part.  This collection of particles draws the attention of the technician, who then evaluates the reason for the flux leakage.  This test method can be applied at varying levels of sensitivity making it useful at various stages of the manufacturing process or during the service life of a component.

Training covers the various methods and equipment used to magnetize the components as well as the different types of particles and their application.  Discussions include the applications of different types of current and their resulting dynamics.
